Access Books

To grow a permanent school library collection, Access Books must purchase new, hardcover books with its own funds along with the supplies required to process those books for library circulation.

Furthermore, we believe it is critical to provide a warm, welcoming and comfortable place to read. That is why we also refurbish the school library, which includes painting, a comfortable sofa, a rocking chair and pillows for reading time. In some cases, new carpet is laid. We rely on the generosity of individual donors, sponsors and grant-makers to provide under-served children with the kind of libraries enjoyed by their more affluent peers. Please consider donating money to support literacy in disadvantaged communities.

Remember: among school and community predictors of academic achievement, the size of the school library collection and staff is second only to the absence of poverty. The more books children have access to in their school libraries, the more they will read.  Website
