2018 OSIsoft Netherlands Regional Seminar Coming to you!

Want to learn more about the PI System, OSIsoft’s technology direction and how customers like you are digitally transforming? Our free Regional Seminars are designed to keep you up-to-date. This year, We are coming to Utrecht, Netherlands on April 17th to bring you the latest! Each year, over 2,000 customers attend our regional seminars to:

  • Present their stories
  • Network with peers and partners
  • Hear about industry trends
  • See the latest from OSIsoft
  • Attend our PI 101 Workshop for PI System newcomers

This year our regional seminars focus on digital agility. From engineers to data analysts, we are seeing a rapid evolution of digital technologies and analytics. With this evolution comes opportunity for new solutions, as well as their associated challenges. Talks from OSIsoft, our customers and our partners will cover rapid configurations of the PI System to deliver solutions to industrial needs,  out-of-the-box uses of the PI System, as well as how a data infrastructure that extends  from the edge to cloud supports digital agility towards operational excellence.

Keynote: Digital Agility in the Evolving World of Industry 4.0 and IIoT
Automation, IIoT, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Artificial Reality – the next decade promises to be the digital revolution of the industrial world. Our challenge is integrating legacy systems and assets with new technologies to harness the explosion of data to drive new opportunities without risking existing operations. This keynote will cover the challenges of the digital revolution and best practices for success and highlights how a data infrastructure strategy can support organizations invest in an agile ecosystem of edge, enterprise and cloud technologies.

11:30 AM - 12:00 PM
Data: the fuel of the energy transition
Distributing electricity and gas from production sites to our homes, our business and our cities in a safe and reliable way today already comes with a substantial amount of data collection, -processing and -sharing.  Planning and  operating energy flows,  constructing and maintaining infrastructure: all of these processes rely on data.  The energy system is changing rapidly:  decentral generation is on the rise, as is the sales of electric cars. Cities are becoming smart, as is your home. Our country is planning to abandon gas as energy carrier.   All of these developments this will have huge impact on our energy system. In order to navigate our energy system through these changes, we will need to work together and have a compass to navigate on.  We believe that data will help us there tremendously .   It is a must to get visibility of what’s going on deep into the veins of our grids  and share that data (in a secure and reliable way and with regards to privacy rules and regulations) with customers and suppliers, other system operators, contractors and the cities/municipalities.   This presentation will cover our take on the journey towards becoming a digital distribution system operator:  how we try to improve our daily job today by making better use of OT data but also how we prepare dat exchange for the evolution of our energy system. We will present our vision, our approach and share examples of projects and our learnings.
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Lunch, Networking & Expo

1:00 PM - 1:30 PM
CBM: Just Right, Just-in-Time Maintenance
We are being asked to run equipment longer, faster and harder with less resources while minimizing failures. Condition based maintenance takes a data driven approach to maximizing the performance of your assets and maintenance schedules.  Discover through drag and drop configuration how the PI System can be used for condition based maintenance. Configure digital representations of your assets, calculate key performance indicators (KPIs), and even send notifications or kick off maintenance work flows based on the real condition of your assets.  Kick-starting your CBM project has never been easier with the modern PI System.
1:30 PM - 2:00 PM
Analytics: It’s what you do with the data that counts
Industrial Analytics is the buzz of the day. Big data, data lakes, machine learning and artificial intelligence are offering the allure of new insights and answers to efficiencies.  However sometimes the first big win comes from a small improvement and the data your already own.  Learn how you can break down seemingly complex big data problems into a manageable sequence of steps with the PI System.  Even without waiting for completion of a full-blown statistical model, your operational experts can often spot anomalous patterns with little more than a few events captured by PI System event frames and compiled in a report.  And when you are ready to push data to advanced machine learning (ML) tools, the PI Integrator line is available to jump-start your data science initiative with clean, ready-to-consume, reliable data.

Connected Services and OEM: the value of sharing the data
There is a wealth of information enclosed in collected timeseries data. Some of the value can be unlocked by assets owners and Operators themselves. But due to the knowledge drain this proofs to be more and more challenging. Sharing the information with subject matter experts from Equipment vendors can drive significant value for all. Being the de facto  standard in many Industrial markets OSIsoft facilitates data sharing, not only a by a technical infrastructure, but also by providing flexible business models.
3:30 PM - 4:00 PM
Development of a MES Performance management system at DSM Nutritional Products
MES has to become a commodity within DSM Nutritional Products. The goal was/is to develop a toolset to support Performance Management of plants and show that on a common Dashboard to support operations.
To deliver on these goals in a limited amount of time for multiple sites across the Globe, templates have been developed that support quick deployment of the OSIsoft infrastructure and the MES applications. The standarisation provided by the templates have resulted in a very fast deployment of functions. E.g. a KPI can be added in 2 minutes.
4:00 PM - 4:20 PM
Panel session: Best practices to introduce technology and change for success (Customers and OSIsoft speakers)
