  • Network with peers and partners
  • Hear about industry trends
  • See the latest from OSIsoft
  • Attend our PI 101 Workshop for PI System newcomers

This year our regional seminars focus on digital agility. From engineers to data analysts, we are seeing a rapid evolution of digital technologies and analytics. With this evolution comes opportunity for new solutions, as well as their associated challenges. Talks from OSIsoft, our customers and our partners will cover rapid configurations of the PI System to deliver solutions to industrial needs,  out-of-the-box uses of the PI System, as well as how a data infrastructure that extends  from the edge to cloud supports digital agility towards operational excellence.

The PI System in the Digital Enterprise

Are you ready for your Digital transformation? Today, data drives our world. It's all around us. Operational Data is all around us. The challenge is getting the data we need, at the right time, to the right people to make a difference. With the PI System, you can Transform Your World with Data.

11:00 AM - 11:30 AM
Keynote: Digital Agility in the Evolving World of Industry 4.0 and IIoT
Automation, IIoT, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Artificial Reality – the next decade promises to be the digital revolution of the industrial world. Our challenge is integrating legacy systems and assets with new technologies to harness the explosion of data to drive new opportunities without risking existing operations. This keynote will cover the challenges of the digital revolution and best practices for success and highlights how a data infrastructure strategy can support organizations invest in an agile ecosystem of edge, enterprise and cloud technologies.
11:30 AM - 12:15 PM
Analytics and Data Lake: It’s what you do with the data that counts
Industrial Analytics is the buzz of the day. Big data, data lakes, machine learning and artificial intelligence are offering the allure of new insights and answers to efficiencies.  However sometimes the first big win comes from a small improvement and the data your already own.  Learn how you can break down seemingly complex big data problems into a manageable sequence of steps with the PI System.  Even without waiting for completion of a full-blown statistical model, your operational experts can often spot anomalous patterns with little more than a few events captured by PI System event frames and compiled in a report.  And when you are ready to push data to advanced machine learning (ML) tools, the PI Integrator line is available to jump-start your data science initiative with clean, ready-to-consume, reliable data.
12:15 PM - 12:45 PM
Improving Equipment Reliability and Availability through Real-time data at ADNOC Onshore
Improved reliability and integrity of critical rotating equipment is one of the major business drivers for any organization in today's competitive environment. Reducing downtime and moving toward a proactive maintenance strategy requires commitment to put into place an intelligent maintenance and repair practices that will help to identify the root cause of unplanned shutdowns and take the necessary steps to prevent future occurrences. ADNOC Onshore has undertaken an initiative of directly interfacing the existing Field Data Integration System (FDIS) based on the OSISoft PI System with its Asset Management System from IBM Maximo. The objective of the initiative is to achieve significantly improved plant reliability by creating workflows and procedures that support and enhance maintenance improvement strategies, deliver sustainable value and help in addressing the root cause of recurring issues.

Digital Transformation – Realising the full value of your Operational Data
In the present competitive climate there is a growing pressure on Oil & Gas companies to further maximize productivity, lower costs and extend the lifespan of their assets and to achieve this companies are increasingly looking to further embrace digital technologies across many more areas of their business by means of Digital Transformation. Industry leaders, including Saudi Aramco, Shell, BP, Chevron and Total have implemented an enterprise real-time data platform to centrally manage all their operational real-time data, whether it’s coming from traditional process control networks, IoT devices, data historians or cloud-based SaaS offerings.
Russell will attempt to clarify some of the confusion and mis-communication that we have seen around this topic and simplify the most important things that should be considered when building a real-time data strategy for a modern Oil & Gas operation. Russell will cover how people are successfully embracing emerging IoT technologies and the data they provide within their operations and I will also discuss how Oil & Gas companies can best manage their real-time data to make the most effective use of ‘Big Data’ analytics.
3:00 PM - 3:30 PM
CBM: Just Right, Just-in-Time Maintenance
We are being asked to run equipment longer, faster and harder with less resources while minimizing failures. Condition based maintenance takes a data driven approach to maximizing the performance of your assets and maintenance schedules.  Discover through drag and drop configuration how the PI System can be used for condition based maintenance. Configure digital representations of your assets, calculate key performance indicators (KPIs), and even send notifications or kick off maintenance work flows based on the real condition of your assets.  Kick-starting your CBM project has never been easier with the modern PI System.
3:30 PM - 4:00 PM
Using Your PI System for Full Featured Vibration Monitoring
This tutorial explores how a SETPOINT Edge device from Brüel & Kjær Vibro can be used to stream full-featured vibration data (including waveforms) into your PI System, eliminating the need for stand-alone specialized vibration software and without sacrificing the functionality required by rotating machinery engineers and vibration analysts. It will explain how such high-speed data can be placed in standard PI tags, how the system conserves storage space and bandwidth by borrowing lossless compression concepts from the video streaming domain, and how the system allows the user to visualize this data in the specialized formats required by vibration analysts and engineers. I conclude with a discussion of the hardware used to enable this functionality and its compatibility with the monitoring systems likely already present in your plant.
